Medication Kit Terms and Conditions

By purchasing a medication kit from PreparedMed NZ, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

Medical Disclosure:

I confirm that I have disclosed all medical conditions and allergies to PreparedMed, to enable the prescribing doctor to ensure prescribed medications are appropriate for me.

Medication Expiry:

I acknowledge that the medications within my medication kit have varying expiration dates over the next two years. After two years, the quality and efficacy of the medications are not guaranteed. It is strongly recommended that all medications are discarded after two years (following purchase), and new medications are requested from PreparedMed NZ.

Telemedicine Consultations for the Purchase of Eligible Medication Kits:

  • The purchase of each eligible medication kit includes one complementary telemedicine consultation within the first two years following purchase. I understand that:
  • Any additional telemedicine consultations during the first two years will incur a per-consultation fee of $200, for which I will be invoiced for following the consultation.
  • Any telemedicine consultations that are provided after two years will incur a per-consultation fee of $200, unless my plan is extended.
  • For medication kits that do not include a complementary telemedicine consultation, each telemedicine consultation will incur a per-consultation fee of $200, for which I will be invoiced following the consultation.
  • When obtaining a telemedicine consultation, I understand that I will be required to provide the unique kit ID to the telemedicine doctor.
  • I acknowledge that if the kit ID is removed or defaced and cannot be provided to the telemedicine doctor, a telemedicine consultation may not be provided.

Telemedicine Service Use for Eligible Medication Kits:

  • I understand that the telemedicine service is intended for urgent medical situations only, when usual health care is not readily accessible. I understand that if I phone the telemedicine service for a non-urgent medical issue, I will be politely redirected to my usual health provider (e.g. General Practitioner).
  • I understand that use of the Remote Management of Common Medical Conditions booklet does not replace the need to obtain telemedicine support.
  • I understand that I should always attempt to contact the telemedicine service before using the medications in my medication kit.
  • I understand that in the event of an urgent medical issue where the telemedicine service cannot be contacted (e.g., during a major national emergency when the mobile network is down), I should:
  1. Follow the instructions in the Remote Management of Common Medical Conditions booklet.
  2. Contact the telemedicine service as soon as communications are restored, for advice relating to my ongoing care.

Risks of Self-Medication:

While care has been taken to ensure the accuracy of the guidance in the Remote Management of Common Medical Conditions booklet, I acknowledge that taking prescription medications in urgent situations without a telemedicine consultation carries risks.

Personal Use Only:

  • I acknowledge that my medication kit contains medications prescribed specifically for me and/or my family.
  • I agree not to on-sell, gift or loan the medication kit or any of its contents to others.

Medication Kit Storage Instructions:
I acknowledge that when it is not being used, I should store my medication kit in a safe place that is dry, away from direct sunlight, not regularly exposed to the extremes of temperature and out of the reach of children.
