• Antibiotic: Broad-spectrum antibiotic for severe infections
• Pain & fever: paracetamol, ibuprofen and other stronger pain relief where appropriate following initial consultation 
• Gut & hydration: ondansetron (nausea & vomiting); loperamide (diarrhoea); oral rehydration salts
